PDF Bench
Privacy at PDF Bench
PDF Bench processes your PDFs entirely on your device, in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to our servers — we never see them. This applies to every tool: merge, split, organize, watermark, page numbers, sanitize, and redact.
What this means for you
- Your PDF stays on your device while you use the tools. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, and we never see them.
- Downloads are generated right in your browser — the finished file goes straight to your Downloads folder.
- Once the app is loaded, it can keep working even if you go offline.
What we never track
- PDF content, text, or anything inside your documents.
- Filenames or file sizes.
- Anything you type into tool inputs (page ranges, watermark text, etc.).
Web analytics
PDF Bench uses cookie-free analytics to count page views and see which tools are most popular. This helps us prioritize improvements, and we don't share this data with anyone.
Advertising
PDF Bench is built by a small team passionate about making tools that just work. Ads are how we make a living and how we can keep improving these tools for everyone. If you accept cookies, the ad network may show more relevant ads based on your browsing activity. If you decline, you'll still see general ads — and every tool works exactly the same either way.
Where ads appear
- The tools themselves stay ad-free — we don't want ads getting in the way while you work.
- Ads show up on a small set of content pages, like the homepage and guide pages.
- Your choice about ad cookies doesn't change what the PDF tools can do.
Third-party services we use
- We use cookie-free analytics to see which pages and tools are most popular.
- We use Google AdSense to show ads on some content pages.
- These services can see which pages you visit, but they never receive your PDF files.
How it works under the hood
When you load a PDF into a tool, your browser does all the work. PDF Bench uses Web Workers — background threads built into your browser — to read, modify, and re-assemble your files entirely on your device. No file data leaves your browser during processing.
How to verify this yourself
- Open your browser's developer tools (usually F12).
- Switch to the Network tab.
- Run any tool action — Merge, Redact, Sanitize, etc.
- Confirm there are no upload requests containing your PDF data.
